Department of Evolutionary Anthropology
Human biology is a wide ranging topic that can include the study of human form, physiology (including energetics), behavior, ecology and genetics. These interdisciplinary courses (several are cross-listed in biology, psychology or global health) offer students the change to examine the human species from a variety of perspectives. We include some classes that include the study of non-human animals, as this type of comparative study is critical in better understanding what makes us human. The study of human biology is a great way to prepare for numerous future careers, including health-related fields, global health policy, museum work, teaching, psychology and, naturally, graduate work in anthropology.
